The National Afterschool Association (NAA) mission is to be the leading voice of the afterschool profession dedicated to the development, education and care of children and youth during their out-of-school hours.

Children with Special Needs

The American Association of People with Disabilities is a non-profit, non-partisan, cross-disability organization whose goals are unity, leadership, and impact.

The Council for Exceptional Children is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.

The mission of the Federation for Children with Special Needs is to provide information, support, and assistance to parents of children with disabilities, their professional partners, and their communities.

NCLD provides national leadership in support of children and adults with learning disabilities by offering information, resources, and referral services and much more.

The Fathers Network's mission is to celebrate and support fathers and families raising children with special health care needs and developmental disabilities. Website resources include articles by dads, and website links to fathering, disabilities, families, health care, and legal issues.

The National Disemination Center for Children with Disabilities provides information on disabilities in children and youth; programs and services for infants, children, and youth with disabilities; IDEA, the nation's special education law; No Child Left Behind, the nation's general education law; and research-based information on effective practices for children with disabilities.

This web site was created to provide free, objective, accurate early care, health, and education information for families in Iowa.
